CAN A HYACINTH GROW INDOORS YEAR ROUND?

No, it will not do very well if you just leave it in the pot indoors. I would remove it from the pot, leave it to dry out and store it until the autumn. Then I would plant it outside in the garden - it will never look quite so good indoors again but will still have that lovely scent to enjoy.

You can plant it straight outside once the flowers fade, either in a tub or in the ground. Water in well, feed it while its still got leaves. Hyacinths produced for use in the house have been treated so that they will flower early and in house conditions, and they will do that only once - but will flower again outside the following year.

No, Hyacinths need growing space, very bright light, excellent air circulation, some variation between day and night temperature, and an 8 week cold dormant season to bloom again. Houseplant conditions wouldn't suit it at all. If you live in zone 8 or colder, I would plant it outside after bloom, where it will probably start blooming again in spring of 2014.

No, it will flower and then die back. I doubt you can keep one alive to flower again the following year but Tugbrethil may have advice for you.
