If you want straight rows of different coloured pebbles the quickest way would be to lay a straight sided piece of timber down, scrape a narrow line beside it and lay the pebbles along that line.

Hi Lewis, take a look on this sight for gravel gardens etc. go to the bottom of page and choose 'G' .. also look at 'Paulsgarden', his garden is completely done with stones of all shapes, sizes and colours.

the best way is to cement them in if ofcourse your not going to use them as flower beds . youl realise how much the differnt colours mix if there just loose . wood between will deffinatly help but it can look just not right even if a few go on the wrong colour .
