in about a month my brassica seedlings will go out, poorish limestone soil, limed and feed pkn. we have 75 inches a year rain, south cumbria and by sept middle the majority of cabbage will burst after summer of rain? Too much feeding? Too much rain? It happens most years, I would be grateful for an answer.

I would say the excess rain was the main culprit, also better to dig well rotted manure or compost into the ground rather than top feeding. As you already have limestone soil not necessary to add lime.
