It's very difficult to say what either of them is with certainty - seeing a few leaves or blossom close up is useful, but other ID signals are gathered from the overall shape of the plant, its growth habit, the colour of the bark, etc.
Does the second plant currently have any blossom? Is its bark the same as on the first plant? Are they similar sizes?
