Green fences.. help?
Happy Easter everyone... I moved into a new house 2.5 years ago and painted all the garden fences with 5 yr cuprinol stuff.... but last year the fences started to go green algae-ish.... they all need redoing again (you can see in this easter hunt photo!) Is there anything I can treat the fence with to stop them going green before I repaint?

It happens when you live in a damp place. A power wash and a stiff brush takes most of it off. Mix in some bleach and fairy liquid and that helps stop regrowth.

Not really - the green is moss and algae that grows where its dampest on the fence, i.e., on the horizontal supports and adjacent areas. Cleaning it off works, but is time consuming...
