United Kingdom
we have a elderberry tree growing out the top of a stone wall and the roots are starting to break apart the wall, how can we kill it without pulling down the wall if possible.

Just painting with Systemic Brushwood Killer will not be enough. Drill a hole in the stump, fill it up with neat SBK , plug it with putty. Within a year the whole stump and roots will be dead.

Previous question
cut the stem off as close to the wall as possible and then 'paint' the stump with something like skb or is it sbk? brush wood and stump killer.
