Hi I believe the latin name is Washingtonia filifera. They were planted in an unheated summer house, but this winter we had a prolonged spell of hard frost -16 outdoors and dropped to -11 in summer house.In the same planter is a Canary Island palm which has not been affected by the cold spell.

In my RHS book, it reckons not below 8 - 10 degrees C. So if they've suffered, that's why.
