hi kildermorie, thanks for your reply,I was thinking of planting one not far from my pond, changed my mind now, could cause too many problems.

Sorbaria do grow by suckers, so they form thickets of plant if you do not prune every year. OK if you have a corner of your garden you want to neglect, not so good for the front garden.
