I have planted Double Duo Zinnia seeds in organic pots and now that the seedlings are around three inches high the compost is covered in a orange fungus. Doesn't seem to be doing any harm at the moment but when I plant out will it affect the plant?

I am trying to picture the situation:

By organic pots! do you mean peat pots?

Have the seedlings been pricked out into individual pots?

If not do you intend thinning the plants out at planting out time?

As I see it; I don't think the fungus is a problem, this is probably a result of the pot decaying.

However I think they need thinning out into individual plants because the plants want to be around 200mm (8") apart in the bed to get the best from them.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful....Tg
