Dwarf Fan Palm tree

I repotted my dwarf palm before winter and since then it has been gradually going down hill! It is now brown and dry, does anyone have any advice on what to do with it - not sure whether to put it in the ground or if it is a lost cause?

We have just had the coldest winter for a few years and I have seen a quite a few sick palms this spring.Having its roots disturbed before winter may not of helped.Place it in full sun and be patient, they are slow moving plants!

It doesn't sound too hopeful - scrape a little piece of bark from the stem and see if the wood is green underneath - if so, there's life there, if it's brown, then sorry, no hope.
