hi, i have just had a lovely display on my flowering redcurrant, when is the best time to prune this and how severe should i be, thank you

I'd leave it until autumn if you really need to prune

these don't need pruning unless you need the space in which case prune to shape. and, of course, cut out any dead diseased or damaged wood
