Sorry, but this question isn't clear enough. What do you mean by 'waterlogged' roots?
Otherwise, if its in a pot and the roots are coming out the bottom, it needs a larger pot.

id get it into the ground with some decent compost and tap as much of the pot of as possible . you wont have to get it all as it will grow right threw it . backfill with soil and water in well etc .
