Sorry,Tatties again.
I guess. I wasn't too thorough when I dug up my spuds last year as I've now got them poking through in the wrong places ( between rows of onions, lettuce etc.
I dug a couple of small ones out and there was a tiny spud - about 1 inch diameter growing away.
My question is - can I dig them out and replace them somewhere else or should I just Chuck them away.

Have to confess I often leave mine and get a good crop off them, even though they look untidy and are in the way! Last year some appeared under my bean wigwam and they did very well!

The rule is when you have dug your Potato crop, dig over the plot again and get another bucket full !

Even then you will still get volunteers Diane - Bulba digs the tattie patch twice and yet every year a few appear. Generally we remove them if we can.

I still have 2 left in which are not completely in the way so I'll give them a chance and report back later,
But I took 5 up.

You can compost the leaves but not the roots/tubers

M.G. When I saw your enlarged photo and realised you were 5ft 10 I thought - that's the girl for me, then you lost me talking about tubers - i mean - who'd put musical instruments in compost anyway ?

If you do plant them Hank make sure you fertilise them with trom-bone meal.

Hope I didn't upset anyone with frivolous remarks. If I did - sorry. Won't do it again, honest.

Dig them up and bin them, replanting isn't going to work and letting them grow isn't a good idea.
