need to know if this is hemlock before i weed my garden

Answers

Pic's a bit blurry - hemlock has ferny leaves at the base, can't see any that look like that in the photo.

I see you've added a couple of pics - I don't think it is hemlock, but frankly, I'd have it out, its a weedy looking thing anyway.

I don't think it is hemlock either but it is a rubbish looking plant.

the bottom one seed pod looks like Capsella or sheperds purse. It is a definite weed in a cultivated garden. each 'purse' hols 30+ seeds which when ripe split open, a bit like hairy bittercress. The white flowers have 4 petals and are quite small 2-4mm

SBG is right - shepherd's purse was the plant whose life cycle we studied in biology. How could I forget those seed cases.

I wondered if the second one could be hairy bittercress - I'm plagued with it, it's so quick to grow and set seed! Pic's a bit blurry.

Isn't hemlock a great big thing? Though I suppose it must start off small.... :-?
