Very unlikely to be a new species Doozhal... Did you plant forced hyacinths in your garden? Over the years they produce smaller and smaller flower heads and can be confused with a bluebell... Definitely need a photo!

If its the same photo thats on your avatar, it does look like a hyacinth.

Forgot to say - welcome to GoY!!!

I was just having a closer look at your avatar, and I thought it was an elderly hyacinth, too. Welcome from me, too!

Agree with elderly hyacinth, a deep reddish pink one, which look more and more like bluebells and not hyacinths as they get old.

What is it about our garden then? Some of our hyacinths, ex forced ones, have been in for 16 years and they are as good now as they were when they flowered in the house.
Agree the one in the picture does look like a Hyacinth which has been starved.

Yes it is the picture you see, its among bluebells and I only noticed it when it was nearly over so don't have a good pic of it. Thank you all for your comments

Perhaps you actually feed your hyacinths every year Owdb?

I live in Colorado and I just spotted a crop of RED bluebells in my garden as I was pulling up all the purple one and don't have the hear to pull them so am just giving up and going to just try and manage the blue one's and now the red but leave a clump of them in the yard.

I live in Colorado and just came across a patch of RED bluebells in my flower bed. I was pulling up all the purple ones and there they were. I don't have the heart to pull them so I am going to just try and manage them and leave some of the purple with them. I may wish I hadn't but they are so different and so gotta do it.
I called the nursery and they had never heard of such a thing so am taking one over for them to see. Same leaf, same everything but color. All in same area of garden.
