my Yucca Filamentosa has brown spots on its leaves, is this a virus and if so, what can i do about it?

Did your Yucca Filamentosa survive, i too live at the coast and only planted my Yucca last summer, i now have brown spots on the leaves too. I also planted a scented old english rose nearby that seemed to get burnt to death by the wind but amazingly it has 23 roses flowering right now.
So was it a virus or salty wind on your Yucca, my looks very forlorn last year it had a marvellous flower spike when i planted it.
