Definitely long tailed tit - lovely birds, but it's unusual to see one on it's own, they tend to go around in small groups of about a dozen, chirupping and making little, almost hissing noises, and have a dipping, bobbing flight. Lovely to have in your garden - we haven't seen any here this year, sadly.

Many thanks, yes they were in a group of about six, they look very young. They moved about so much it was difficult to catch them on camera. Its the first time I have seen them. I have also seen a woodpecker in the garden for the first time.

You're doing well, Segovia. No, it isn't the wrong forum - I think I speak for most Goyers when I say that pictures like this are really interesting, lovely and much appreciated. Birds, after all are part of the garden scene!

I wasn't chastising Segovia, he said he thought he had put on wrong forum... We get a woodpecker sometimes too a male juvenile who feeds on the peanuts.

Never thought you were, MG! You are lucky! We haven't seen our green woodpeckers this year, unfortunately. We can hear woodpeckers of SOME sort down in the valley, though, so there's hope yet! :o)

Fingers crossed Gattina that they appear for you.
