my gooseberry bushes seem to have stunted growth and very small fruit. Previous years have been great. What would be the cause of the decline?

Lack of water, the cold April, lack of feeding.... all could be possible.

and i wouldnt expect any full sized fruit until mid june. it is now a dry may so they will need plenty of water.
