Have our walking stick cabbages stopped growing?

My Explorer Scouts planted these last sping. They want to cure and carve the stems. They have flowered now. Does this mean they won't grow any taller?

They have come to the end of their life. Get your scouts to start again. They may have some success in drying the stalks, if they are pulled up and left out in full sun.
