I needed some john innes #2, so went to B&Q, I found some in bags called "Verve", 20 litres £3.95, about 3 rows lower down were B&Q 25 litre bags, so assuming that as they were on the same stack, they would be the same price, Ilifted a few bags of the other stuff off and got 2 bags of the 25 litre, when I got to the checkout they were only £3 a bag, so don,t be fooled into buying the 20 litre bags, because it has a fancy name on it, more compost - less money, Derek.

B&Q changed their garden ranges to VERVE at the beginning of this year. Anything with B&Q label will be older stock.

Thanks for the comments, but unopened bags of compost
are still usable, the nutrients will still be there, so 25% more compost for almost 25% less money, seems a good deal to me, and as pimpernel says they should all be made to the john innes formula, Derek.

I think "Verve" at B&Q is a bit like their version of "finest" or "Extra Special"
But when you consider John Innes is a recipe there is no reason one would be better than another is there ?
