Echinacea White Swan

I bought several bare rooted plants of the above and some geraniums, I potted them in large pots ready to go out into a bed that is being dug over and prepared. Neither seem to be growing well, only 4 or so leaves on them some of which go limp looking, do bare rooted plants take longer to establish, Ive not bought them this way before. Any advice

Are you bothered by slugs? They love echinaceas.

I bought some last year and put them in pots too. They are really slow to move so I am leaving them in their pots until they are a good size . As Wagger says the slugs love them so they will need protection

I find that bare root plants can be a little hit and miss especially if they're planted later then when they'd naturally start growing. It's a cheaper option than buying potted plants though so I still buy this way.
My Echinacea 'White Swan' has been in a pot over the winter and is now only 5" or so high; they're not the fastest growing of plants. Give them time and they should recover.
