Why isn't my hawthorn flowering?

I planted a hawthorn hedge 2 to 3 years ago, as I love to see the flowers/berries. It has grown well, however it has never come into flower. I'm guessing the plants must be 3 or 4 years old now - do they have to be older before they start flowering? Excuse the ignorance - novice gardener!!

Hi Akela65, thanks for the response. Yes, have pruned. Left well alone this year until last weekend in the hope it would bud, but nothing, when all other hawthorns I see around this area are covered in flowers. Did trim some time last year but can't remember if it was in the Autumn. Would pruning in the Autumn stop it from flowering in Spring?
Thanks again.

Have you ever pruned it? As you may notice from hawthorn hedges, they don't flower if pruned spring/Autumn.
