New turf has develooped yellow patches

I laid some turf over a 30 sq metre area six weeks ago. Over the last couple of weeks yellowing patches where the grass appears to be dry or dying have appeared. I've had a sprinkler on the grass every day for 30 mins as it hasn't really rained much in this time (when it has rained I haven't used the sprinkler that day) Could I have been watering too much or too little or could it be something else? Any advice greatly appreciated! Thanks

Make sure the turf in tamped down firmly to get a good connection to the soil and keep watering with fingers crossed!

Thanks for your advice everyone. The turf is in contact with the topsoil. I'm waiting and watching to see what happens as the last couple of days the situation hasn't changed. Perhaps the grass is fighting back!

This usually happens when the contact between the underside of the turf and the soil beneath is poor - either it wasn't loose enough for the roots to penetrate, or there's a pocket of air underneath. Don't know how good your prep was before putting the turf down, so maybe that's your answer. Hope you put loads of nitrogen down first...
