Anyone know what this is?

Essex/NJ, United States

I have this ground cover type plant growing in my garden -- it grows in a spiral, and it looks like something, but not sure if it's anything but a weed. I don't want to pull it out, but so far no flowers have come out of it. Any idea? It's quite nice, but just green rounds of leaves so far. Thanks!

Could it be a young Vinca?

it looks like common self heal or Prunella. there are garden cultivars as well as the wild flower [british native sounds nicer than weed] leave it to flower and if you like , jobs a goodun, if not its easy enough to pull out. If i have any in flower i'll post a picture for you.

Thank you all for your answers. I'm going to wait to see if it flowers before I do anything with it. It's interesting the way it's growing, and it seems to be growing where my Iris' are coming up. If I get a nice flower, it can stay! Again, many thanks!
