Hi all
Looking for guidance about a 6ft Stella Cherry tree I purchased last week. The problem is I don't have anywhere to plant it in my back yard/garden,so could I transfer it into a much larger pot and would it still fruit or does it need to be planted?Ideally,I want to go back to the G.C and buy a "Summer Sun" Cherry tree, but only if I can keep potted,if not obviously I won't bother!
Any suggestions gratefully received with thanks.

Many thanks for your comments Kildermorie, they're very much appreciated.
I think I'll perservere with this tree for now,try what you've suggested and see what develops, and try and not let my enthusiasm carry me down to buy any more from the garden centre!

I have 2 ornamental Cherry trees in pots, they need lots of water and care. You need to:
keep it pruned to compact size, espallier works well.
keep it well watered, trees use lots of water
keep it fed, spring till autumn, add bonemeal when planting and fresh compost to top it up.
keep it staked, in a pot the larger the tree the more likely it is to fall over in wind breaking roots.
