I have got a grafed tree in my front garden. I do not know the name of the tree. When it is in flower it was pink and white. It has not flowered at all this year. My husband did cut it back, could it be dead?

It is normally in flower now. No I can not download a photo, sorry. It has no shoots or leaves on it. I am sure it is dead.

You could try to scrap a bit of the bark Of with your thumb nail. If the surface under the bark is green then you tree is still alive.

I have looked at my tree this morning and there is green patches on it like moss. There is some green under the bark but in other places there is also dark brown.
Can you tell me why I have been flaged ?

I have no idea why you have been flagged Indywool......
You may just have to wait and see if anything improves with your tree or if your husband has carried out irrepairable damage.

I have just been to Wentworth Garden Centre, they said my grafed tree was a Salix and it is part of the willow family.

When it did flower what time of the year was it? Could you possibly upload a photo so that it can be identified correctly?
Although you say it has not flowered does it have leaves and new shoots emerging and when did you cut it back?
