has anyone had plant deliveries from thompson + morgan? ive been trying to ask them an approximate deliv.date a bit more precise than before end of august but they dont answer my question in any email they reply with. do they let you know somehow the week the plants are ready or something? theyve advised me to tell a neighbour if im out because the cant attach my message to leave them by the shed but my neighbours would be out at work during the day. i know its down to when the plants are ready but am i supposed to stay in everyday in august!? there must be some contact from now til then surely? would they just take them back if i wernt in? thanks everyone

they usually send you an email the day they are dispatched. I find they do keep to their dates. plants are variable however. some brilliant others not good at all. I always ring to complain [politely] if the quality is poor. they usually refund or replace them.

i was going to say give them a ring and tell them when you ordered your plants and ask them when are you going to get them..Ive done this before and they have been pretty helpful

I only ever expect plants by the date they have said. Sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised. Only once has T&M not achieved their stated delivery date.

I wouldn't wait in. My postie generally just leaves them on the step. Perhaps you could intercept your local postie one day and tell him/her where you would like them to leave such items. After all, they don't have to be signed for. Remember that your plants have already been in transit for 2 or 3 days. They aren't going to die just because you don't get to them until the evening.

Thanks guys, no i wasnt worried about them being left outside lol, just didnt want them taking them back. its 72 plugs so i dont expect the postman will be bringing them-maybe the postman in a van. if i get an email the day or two their on their way thats fine i can be in then.
thanks again all :o)

72 plugs from t&m may not be a very big packet. depends on the plants you have ordered. I've had 72 plugs in a packet smaller than a ceral box!

i'd be amazed if they are and they may be a little'sad' so plenty of tlc will be needed.

I got 30 so called jumbo plug begonias from them, they came as Seaburngirl said in a tiny box smaller than a cereal packet, I was so surprised!!! I opened the package and most of them were tiny and damaged, the tender leaves had came of most of them. I complained and they sent me some more but the new ones were just the same, I could not be bothered to complain again so I just cut my losses and learnt a lesson to never purchase from them again. The packaging for a start is not the best so from dispatch to delivery they get hammered. Good luck with yours I hope you get some nice ones, beware though of the word Jumbo as they are certainly not jumbo lol.

oh dear, well i did wonder how theyd be packaged, when i heard theyd be sent in the post i was confused, i thought theyd be brought by a courier in an open tray or something. well thanks for the heads up, if theyre not great ill ask for a refund and get to the g.centre sales instead!
