Any idea why my raspberries have flowered, there have been lots of bees on them and there are loads of tiny set fruits but they are not swelling up? They did this last year as well even though the weather was very different. They were planted out 3 years ago in late spring in well manured and cultivated clay based soil. They used to fruit before I transplarted them from an overgrown and weed ridden bed. They are now virtually weed free and the canes and foliage look very healthy. Yes they were cutback both years in the autumn and the new canes tied in.

Thank you Sally. Yes, they were cut back and new canes were tied in the autumn of each of the last two years. They are also now producing healthy looking new canes for next season.

When you say that you transplanted them I am wondering how old the actual canes are? Were the canes cut back last year after fruiting, even though it was very minimal?
