I live in the West of Cornwall, within walking distance of the sea, and if it's extremely stormy there is a residue of salt on the windows.
I have only been here for three years, having lived in a gardenless flat in the London suburbs for most of my working life - so having a garden at last is pure heaven! I live in a terrace of granite cottages: the garden is southwest facing, with extremely sandy soil. It was full of boring shrubs - much too big for a cottage garden - when I got here, but I now have lots of flowers, and three raised beds for veg.
