I have been nurturing this plant believing it to be a white flowering currant. It is at the moment about 18 inches tall (I recently had to cut it back a little when it was attacked by sawfly grubs). It was in a pot until 2 months ago when I decided it was big enough to survive in the garden. I do hope it is something nice :)

I'm not sure what it could be but i dont think its any currant as they all seem to have the rough little leaves like the other flowering currants. I may be wrong though lol.

My first reaction is that it doesnt look like a currant bush, but I can't think what it is.

Oh dear, it looks like an interloper crept into the pot and took over. I'm not sure I want this in my garden - I've just googled it and it seems as if it grows into quite a substantial tree/shrub. Thank you for your help.

Before I read the other members' comments, my first thought was goats willow. Its happened to me before, they seem to self seed in your seed trays, I've nurtured them in the past too. Is the bottom part of the main stem quite woody.

It is, Dawn. I'm now wondering if I can sneak it up to the woods and plant it :)

Go for it Gee. ;)

Dawn, think of me doing a commando crawl up the lane under cover of darkness, with plant and spade carefully camouflaged. Maybe I'll come up with a better idea :)

Do a bit of guerilla gardening Gee. A decent trowel a quick slot, heel it in and away.
