what is the best way to treat primulas, primroses after flowering in containers

As Jacque says plant them in a semi-shady area with good humus rich soil, personally I would not remove young plants in September as it means disrupting the parent plant again. I would however split the following year after flowering.

Hi Cobweb i Pop My Primulas/Primeroses into a Semi Shade Area of my Garden when theyv Finished Flowering where they Double in Size & when September comes along i pull away Any Young Plants with Visible Roots & Pot them on :)
