Planted with care a new large holly bush several weeks ago, all leaves have gradually fallen off, am heartbroken, paid £80 for it. Stems still green with small nobbles which could be signs of new growth, is there still hope it could come back?

Sorry, but it sounds as if it is dying. If you have been watering it well, in addition to the rain, then I would go back to the seller and ask their advice. It sounds as if you should be getting a refund.
