Replant top half of Palm Tree

The middle of my queen palm tree rotted out and but the top is still good and green (15ft total) (top 5 feet intact), had to cut down due to danger. Can I replant the top half with a cut trunk in the ground again? Will the trunk spawn roots?

im not sure as i dont know latin names but summer isnt generaly a good time to move anything let alone an ill plant.
