Hi guys,
Need your help! I want to plant something in my window boxes that will live through this summer in the full sun and winter (North Alabama). I thought maybe some evergreens. I want something nice and easy because I'm pregnant and want to cut time on planting my boxes twice this year. Thanks a lot! Anna...

Not too sure of how cold it gets out there...but dwarf Hebes might fit the bill. I planted some as the 'backbone' of a narrow border, but checked on the Hebe Society website on their hardiness. There are some with very pretty variegated leaves, too. The flowers are lovely and attract insects especially butterflies! :-)
