CONTROL OF LAWN MOSS

United Kingdom

How do I control lawn moss in my garden. Scarification has removed some , but a type of fern moss is proving more difficult to remove. I have searched various web pages to try identify it & believe it is thuirdium delicatatalum (or something like that).

If its ferny looking, its probably woodrush, no idea what the Latin is, and isn't a moss at all, it's a plant. Won't respond to mosskiller, but might respond to lawn weed and feed treatments (though I doubt it). You could try digging it out if you have large patches of it, or spraying the patches with glyphosphate, but be careful, it'll kill the grass too.
