pests on my spinach,

the leaves are rolled together and inside are tiny black insects, they look like poopy seeds ,does anyone no what they are please,the spinach isnt very old and looks healthy yes they were moving but very tiny and lots of them

i suspect the tiny black things are the poo from the caterpillar that was inside the rolled up leaves. may be wrong. do the bits move/have legs that would confirm they are insects.
