I saw a plant yesterday that I can't identify - quite tall - 4ft ish, purple buds with creamy speckles about the same shape, but slightly smaller than a chinese lantern. Open out flowers anbout 1.5inches diameter, similar shape to morning glory. It's not a platycodon. Leaves are like serrated oak leaves.

You're welcome. :-) They're annuals - so you'll need to buy seeds.

Yes, I intend to...but I don't think Jakpink owns the plant he/she saw!

When I first saw Nicandria I thought it was a shrub and spoke to the owner about it. She was only too happy to give me some seed heads. In fact I find the seed heads an attractive follow up to the flowers. It does self seed quite happily as well.
