Nispero is the Spanish name for Eribotrya japonica

NÃspero, nipero and mespel are terms referring to certain fruit-bearing trees, or to their fruit in particular, so it could be: Common Medlar (Mespilus germanica), the origin of the term (called Mispel in many Germanic languages, mispeli in Finnish, nespolo in Italian),
Loquat (Eriobotrya japonica)
Sapodilla (Manilkara zapota)
Manilkara huberi.

If it came from Spain it's probably the Loquat ie. Nispero. The fruits are popular and found in supermarkets here.
