Hi, has anyone in GOY grown a Jacaranda tree outside, I saw one about 3yrs ago in a garden in Huntingdon. It was a tall tree ,we did ask about it and I think they said it was about 12yrs old .Just wondered where to get one and if it would grow. We live in a sheltered wood area in the South East.

The Jacaranda is an exotic tree and frost tender (min. 7-10 degrees). They can be grown in pots and put out in the summer, they prefer a south facing garden with plenty of sunlight. Jacarandas need to brought in around October before the first frosts arrive or you'll probably lose it!
Hope this helps.
