i'd give it its root space and see how it behaves for you. and as i say mookins it pulls up easily. quite therapeutic really.

just been in my garden and think I may have a reasoably decent spot for it, so if its easy to control will plant it as soon as the rain showers stop

have some of ours the wildlife puddle is on the verge of overflowing (it didnt help that hubby topped it up 2 days ago, then its started to rain)

prefers full sun and will tolerate some shade. my soil is a reasonable chalky loam but not overly fed. but i find it very rampant in my garden. it has moved 3ft in 2 seasons. it does pull up relatively easily though.
