Eucalyptus problem

I wish to cut down my Eucalyptus tree. If I shread it for bark - is it at all harmful to the garden of wildlife?

As far as I know, not, but it isn't called the Gum tree for nothing - the sap can be very sticky and gluey. Doctorbob's the one to know the science here.
