cannas
Cannas are sunloving plants and thrive in hot, dry weather as long as water can be kept to the roots. They must not be allowed to dry out. In this country they're best grown in a large pot, so that they can be taken indoors for the winter. If you want to plant them in the garden, make sure you give them a good thick mulch to see them through winter. They respond well to heavy feeding. Cut back almost to the base or to ground level when flowering has finished Hope this helps.
