I have a 10 year old Japanese acer which is infested with hydranger diesease. I have been spraying regularly with Provo from BAYER. This has stooped the spread, to any of my other Acers. What should i do once the leaves have all gone. I did read i can scrub the branches with soapy water to remove any bugs. Please help, as i don't want to loose it.

Not a problem. A lot of people spell Hydrangea Hydrager so it is always a good guess!. I do hope you can remove the scale from the Acer, it does come off. The important thing is to kill the insect as it takes a lot of sap, weakening the plant and Acers are a fickle tree at the best of times.

I think you mean Hydrangea scale...yes use hot-ish water and a bar of soap and a nail brush-being careful not to rub the bark off.
