pulled up crocosmia in bloom got bulb but not a lot of root will they survive ? ive planted them straight away into new tub . they were being thrown out by a neighbour so ive tried to rescue them .

Agree with Steragram. I moved a few to my garden (a friends garden was over run - got 5 bag fulls) when in leaf and they are just flowering now. They do not have masses of roots in the first place. Worst case is it will die back this year but will come back next and hopefully flower then. Adding a small amount of bonemeal to the planting area will not hurt.

Well they are tough cookies so probably - keep them watered for a bit. If they do die off they could well come back next year.
