Plant Id please. Leaves very aromatic/herby. Height approx 40cm. Perennial. Got a bit woody last year so divided and plunged into new compost and has come back afresh, just no idea what it is!

Could be an agastache or monarda...of some description. If the leaves smell of liquorice, it'll be agastache.

Hi Andy/Seaburngirl. For some reason the comment I posted to Andy last night has not appeared. I think he's right about the Monarda suggestion as I went into my photos and renamed them "Monarda citriodora subsp. austromontana". But after reading up about the agastache I think I would like as I love liquorice and aniseed!

This looks pretty, where in your garden did you plant it? It seems like a plant that might look out of place just any where. Did you plant it amongst other plants?
