I hope you have a VERY big garden. Mango trees can reach 80 ft tall.
But, if you're determined to go ahead, plant in full sun in deep, rich soil. Just one thing. When's the monsoon season in your area? These trees will tolerate sub-tropical conditions but prefer monsoonal climates. Rain at flowering time can rot the blossoms and ruin the crop.
Also, check that you have a grafted variety of mangifera indica, otherwise your fruit, when you get it, could be very bitter.
