I am putting in a sidewalk near my fruit cheery tree. There are some surface roots. Can I cut them. The tree is about 20 years old.

if your cementing a walkway and want to stop it cracking so easily from future growth its worth getting some rebar or metal rods of some sort and lay them in the cement anywear near the cherry tree .

Yes you can cut some but not to many,yust try to cut as little as possible but enough to make the side walk.Hope it helped
