Hi there,

I have had a 'Big Ben' Blackcurrant plant for a couple of years. I have grown a second plant from one of the blackcurrants from this plant which has grown very well but has not borne fruit. Is this because of Big Ben being a hybrid or should I be able to grow a fruit bearing plant from its seeds? Thanks for any ansews you can give.

If you have only had the parent for two years the seedling will still be too young to start fruiting anyway. No guarantee the fruit will be the same when it does - simply a case of wait and see I think.

How do I say thanks?
