hi all,
i have a ornithogalum thyrsoides in my garden, can i leave it in the garden when it has finished flowering or will i have to lift it out and store and if so how do i store it.

i have it on the ground all year but i'm further south than you BA!
depends where you are Lucylou. but if the soil is free draining and it is buried deep enough it should be ok. but if in doubt lift it as BA suggests.

hi, i live in leeds so not known for our mild winters!!!
when i lift them can i just leave them in a pot of compost in the shed until they are ready for planting out again next year, and do i water it. thanks

This is a South African bulb and is half-hardy. Also, it does not like much water. If I were growing this I would have it in a pot and bring the pot in for winter. I think that you will have to lift your bulb when it has died back and plant it in a pot of not-quite-dry compost for the winter. Keep the pot in a frost-free place.
