Herb border beginnings

Today we took advantage of the sunshine and started on the herb border. We got brave at the garden centre and added some Garlic and some Strawberries. I’ve never grown fruit before so hopefully we will get at least a few berries. We are trying varieties Sweetheart, Red Gauntlet, Sonata and Fenella. Sorry for the rubbish pics, I cant step on the new lawn yet to get a better angle.

Great oaks from little acorns grow...

Looks good! I'd highly recommend giant Italian flat leaf parsley if you haven't got it yet. Easy to grow from seed in a big pot it's a biennial so won't flower & seed until the second year. You'll only need to buy seed once because it'll fairly prolifically self-seed.
Big handful of leaves chopped & tossed into spaghetti with salted butter, nom nom nom☺

When I try to grow strawberries, I have to prepare for battle against the robins & blue jays. They're up at 5 am. lol. Hope you fair better than me.

You'll get great pleasure from this bit of effort, and I do hope you get at least one strawberry, everything that flies, bites, sucks or slithers likes them as much as we do
One to try if you see some seeds, garlic chives, grows readily in my garden, white flowers, loved by bees, foolproof
